Pastor Tim Carter is the pastor of Bible Baptist Church in West Union, Ohio. Tim is a native of Adams County, having grown up in Seaman, Ohio. Although he was raised in church, he always knew there was something more that was missing from his life. When he was sixteen years old, he found what he had been looking for in a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. His wife, Sherri was saved as a young child at Bible Baptist Church of Sardinia, Ohio, and grew up in Baptist churches all of her life. After graduating high school, Tim and Sherri met while attending Southern State Community College. Tim began attending church with Sherri at her home church, Bible Baptist Church of Hillsboro, over the course of the next four years. During this time, Tim was baptized there, and felt the calling of God to do something more with his life. Tim went on to graduate from the University of Cincinnati with his Bachelor of Science degree in Cardiac Rehabilitation and Corporate Health and took a position at Ford Consumer Finance Company. He and Sherri married in the fall of 1990 and after a year, they moved to Mt. Orab, Ohio and began attending Bible Baptist Church. It was there that Tim surrendered his life to preach. Tim and Sherri began working with the teenagers as the youth directors shortly after, and served in this position for three years on a part-time basis and another year full-time. Tim received extensive practical and spiritual ministry training while on staff there, and eventually felt the calling of God to start a church in his native, Adams County; specifically, West Union, Ohio. In May of 1998, they founded the Bible Baptist Church of West Union. They are the parents of two daughters, Ashley (1991) and Emily (1994) and as of April 2, 2011 they have added Josh Brock, a son-in-law to their family. Sherri and Ashley both work in the church office.
Shiloh and Candy Ogden joined us as the youth directors at Bible Baptist Church in June of 2011. They were both originally from Brown County, OH. Shiloh was saved at Camp Chautauqua in Miamisburg, OH when he was a teenager and later felt his calling into the ministry. He and Candy worked as the youth directors at Bible Baptist Church in Mt. Orab for a while, when he felt led to attend Southern Seminary in Louisville, KY. After completing his degree, they later moved to Tennesse where he and Candy served in their church. They are the parents of three children, Matt (1998), Macey (1997) and Maddox (2004).
