Pastor Tim Carter is the pastor of Bible Baptist Church in West Union, Ohio. Tim is a native of Adams County, having grown up in Seaman, Ohio. Although he was raised in church, he always knew there was something more that was missing from his life. When he was sixteen years old, he found what he had been looking for in a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. His wife, Sherri was saved as a young child at Bible Baptist Church of Sardinia, Ohio, and grew up in Baptist churches all of her life. After graduating high school, Tim and Sherri met while attending Southern State Community College. Tim began attending church with Sherri at her home church, Bible Baptist Church of Hillsboro, over the course of the next four years. During this time, Tim was baptized there, and felt the calling of God to do something more with his life. Tim went on to graduate from the University of Cincinnati with his Bachelor of Science degree in Cardiac Rehabilitation and Corporate Health and took a position at Ford Consumer Finance Company. He and Sherri married in the fall of 1990 and after a year, they moved to Mt. Orab, Ohio and began attending Bible Baptist Church there. It was there that Tim surrendered his life to preach. Tim and Sherri began working with the teenagers as the youth directors shortly after, and served in this position for three years on a part-time basis and another year full-time. Tim received extensive practical and spiritual ministry training while on staff there, and eventually felt the calling of God to start a church in his native, Adams County; specifically, West Union, Ohio. In May of 1998, they founded the Bible Baptist Church of West Union. They are the parents of two daughters, Ashley (1991) and Emily (1994).
Mike Purdon is the youth director at Bible Baptist Church of West Union. He became part of the staff in the fall of 2000, about a month before he married his highschool sweetheart, Kathy. They had been faithfully serving at Bible Baptist Church in Mt. Orab, Ohio, when God began to burden Mike about being in the ministry. When Bible Baptist Church of West Union offered him the part-time staff position as youth director, he accepted it and moved to the Adams County area, while continuing to work at SDRC in Milford. In October of 2004, Mike was able to quit his secular job and work full-time at the church. He and Kathy are the parents of four children: Trey (2002), Lily (2004), Gracie (2006) & Kaden (2007).
Kevin Bell is currently the Jr. High sunday school teacher at Bible Baptist Church. He became a part of staff in the summer of 2009. A year prior, in the summer of 2008, he married his wife Emily who he met at Baptist Youth camp in 2002 in Canton, Ohio. He was born and raised in Blanchester and attented Bible Baptist in Mt. Orab for the first 13 years of his life and Woodville Baptist until 2007. After being married, he moved to Seaman with his wife. Shortly thereafter, he was called into the ministry and became full-time staff with the BBC of West Union.
